The ultimate redesign of the classic Land Rover Defender, the Chelsea Truck Company Vanguard edition has been introduced during the 2019 Geneva International Motor Show. The design of this unique vehicle was led by Afzal Kahn and his design team and has been taken into the ground rethought with elements of classic British design and the rugged nature of the military.
The Vanguard edition represents the CTC ethos: the company decided to improve the original design of the Defender, improving its looks, performance, and inner worth. This ultra-wide Defender, at 3990mm long, 2090mm wide and 2190mm high with its commanding stance, brings a massive footprint to the road with the front and rear wheel arches stretched by 6 inches each.
Under the brash surface is an exhaustively modified powertrain with improved suspension axles, half shafts, and running gear that offers driving dynamics that are much more refined than the outdated Defender. The twin crosshair stainless steel exhaust system of the vehicle gives it an obdurate, intentional feel and reinforces its performance nature.

Inside, the Vanguard edition offers a luxuriously appointed cabin where design meets functionality. Front GTB sport seats and a rear four-seater bench are upholstered in Portland Herringbone leather with quilting and perforation, while door panels, glove box, and instrument binnacle echo this premium finish. Thoughtful details include the Churchill time clock facia, billet steering wheel and gear sticks, vented machined aluminium pedals, heated front seats, and an interior nameplate celebrating British craftsmanship.
