The Ferrari FXX K is a car produced by the Italian automaker Ferrari from 2014 to 2015, as the final result (prototype) of the new evolutionary step of the FXX program and as the successor to the Ferrari FXX. It is part of Ferrari’s research and development program for ultra-high-performance vehicles not subject to road homologation.
This step, dubbed the FXX K (where the “K” stands for KERS), aims to test hybrid technology for the first time in the Italian company’s history with a limited-edition model not homologated for road use.
The car is not intended for road use and does not comply with any homologation: it is therefore completely exempt from any homologation or regulatory standards, and is not even suitable for competition use. The Ferrari FXX K won the 2015 Red Dot Best of the Best award, a recognition for its exceptional design, and the 2016 Compasso d’Oro award, presented to its designer Flavio Manzoni.
In October 2017, Ferrari unveiled the Ferrari FXX-K Evo, an evolution of the FXX-K. The car retains the same engine as the previous model but adopts new styling and aerodynamic solutions that improve its performance.
